How Does this Apply to Your Project?
This comprehensive checklist is designed to assist Plan Examiners in streamlining the review process for commercial energy code compliance. This user-friendly tool emphasizes the most impactful measures, including mandatory provisions, building envelope, mechanical systems, and lighting components.
Provided in Microsoft Excel format, the checklist incorporates automation to filter out non-applicable measures based on the selected code pathway, ensuring ease of use. It includes direct links to relevant code references and sample correction comments to promote consistent enforcement. Beyond its utility for examiners, the checklist also serves as a valuable resource for designers, offering clarity on energy code requirements to support improved compliance and design efficiency.
In Version 1.1, we’ve made several enhancements to improve the overall experience. Updates include refinements to formatting, consistency, and readability throughout the checklist. Based on feedback from plan reviewers in Community Code Support communities across the state, we confirmed that the most impactful measures were included and added several new ones. Sample correction comments were also revised to improve clarity and usefulness.
